With a passion for seeking out healthier alternatives in professional haircare, Nancy Aponte, of Salon Aponte located on Main Street in Monroe, has afforded her clients and staff a cleaner, safer environment to work and be serviced in.

         A 36 year veteran to the profession, Aponte became concerned with the toxic effects of traditional hair color products years ago and started her search to find products, preferably “Made in America” products, that worked just as well but weren’t as compromising to our overall health. This journey has brought Nancy’s company to becoming awarded #1 Eco-friendly Salon in Fairfield County for 2012 by the New Haven Advocate.

         "I am very proud to be making a difference in so many lives" says Aponte. “Women aren’t going to stop coloring their hair or wear make-up and nail polish, so we need to find products that still meet their high standards, but that we can also feel good about.”

         Bringing women together with the same mindset fueled Aponte to start "Network Nights" in her Monroe salon. Like-minded professionals from all different walks of life come together to share their passions. These events are open to the public as well. The next Network Night is scheduled for Friday, November 2 from 7 to 9 p.m.
