Greenwich Alexander Technique Studio Offers Free Musician Workshops
The Greenwich Alexander Technique Studio has moved to a new location on Lewis Street in downtown Greenwich. To celebrate the grand opening, the Studio is sponsoring a series of free workshops for musicians on injury prevention and recovery. The workshops will be facilitated by Vincent Fraser, Certified Teacher and Craniosacral Therapist who has worked with musicians and music educators for many years, both privately and in music schools and studios.
The technique is taught in many conservatories and music schools here and in Europe, and has helped many musicians recover and prevent injury. It has also been proven effective for back and neck pain in a study by the British Medical Journal. It teaches a form of embodiment known as a "conscious use of the self", which brings ease to everyday activities as well as in the playing of music.
The workshops will be held on October 17 and 25 at 7 p.m. in Greenwich. To reserve a spot or for more information, call Vincent at 203.570.2059 or visit VincentFraser.com.
