Empowering Women: Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help in Menopause Management

May 01, 2024 09:00AM ● By Julianne Roshan Dow

Are you experiencing erratic emotions, hot flashes, sleep disruptions, achiness, migraines, skin challenges, osteoporosis or other discomforts? While these symptoms can manifest at any stage of life, they are commonly associated with menopause in women.

As we age, our bodies undergo changes influenced by our DNA and hormonal fluctuations, following their own circadian rhythm. While there are numerous products and medications available to alleviate these challenges, there exists an alternative approach—a hands-on healing modality that empowers individuals to find relief and balance without side effects.

Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help is an ancient Japanese healing art that involves placing hands on specific areas of the body in a particular sequence to harmonize the life force energy within for optimal healing. By learning simple hand placements tailored to our specific physical conditions, we can empower ourselves to alleviate discomfort and promote well-being for both body and mind.

To address mood swings, for instance, we can employ various finger-holding techniques to restore emotional equilibrium in the present moment. Practicing this self-empowering “medicine” enables us to experience emotions in a more balanced manner, allowing them to flow through us without overwhelming us.

You might wonder how simply holding fingers can ease anxiety, fear, anger or profound grief, as well as the overwhelming demands of daily life. However, through experimentation with different hand placements for issues like hot flashes, insomnia, arthritis and migraines, you may experience immediate relief and/or witness significant changes over time.

For instance, to manage hot flashes during daytime activities or nighttime disturbances, a simple crossing of the left leg over the right knee while seated can help regulate body temperature. Additionally, a self-help treatment involving specific hand placements during a hot flash or even during periods of calm may gradually diminish symptoms until they vanish entirely.

Similarly, various hand applications exist to address insomnia and pain, each tailored to individual needs and preferences. One notable technique is the Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help Main Central Energy treatment, which focuses on balancing the endocrine system, a key area affected by menopausal changes. This could be incorporated into a bedtime routine. See the diagram below:

Managing menopausal symptoms through Jin Shin Jyutsu is a simple yet powerful tool that’s always within reach. It’s free, non-invasive, free of side effects, time tested, research-based, utilized by the medical community and empowers you to care for yourself.
