New Festival to Rock Out in June
Riverfront Music Revival has announced its inaugural music lineup, which offers a combination of music from Indie pop to New Orleans funk, reggae to bluegrass, and R&B to Americana Roots. Created by directors Derek Signore and Nicole Heriot-Mikula—who also helm Shelton’s Soupstock Festival—the June 9 and 10 festival will also feature local food trucks, craft beer from New Belgium Brewery and handcrafted drinks by Tito’s Vodka.
Headlining performers include Ripe, Mates of State, Gangstagrass, and Brother Joscephus & the Love Revolution. Local and regional favorites coming to the stage are The Alpaca Gnomes, Creamery Station, Fattie Roots, Kat Wright, The Southern Belles, The Big Takeover and Nardy Boy. The Emerging Artists stage will be highlighting budding bands.
The Vendor Village will be comprised of over 50 handmade artisans and nonprofit organizations, a Piece of Mind: Poetry & Words performance tent and more. And a large Family Fun Zone will cater to children 12 and under with a festival-wide Puppet Parade, Kids Hour and activities. Children 12 and under are free.
The Rejuvenate & Relaxation Wellness Area, included in the ticket price and open from 11am-6pm, will feature providers such as Walnut Beach Wellness, Phoenix Yoga, Birth Partners of CT, Journey to Wellness, Young Living Essential Oils, Southern CT Chiropractic, EarthShip Studios and Common Bond Market. Event sponsors include: Hocon Gas, Liberty Bank, Talalay Global, Tuttle Insurance, One Way Limo, Tito’s Vodka and 99.1 PLR.
The festival has partnered with End Hunger Connecticut! (EndHungerCT.org) in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the nonprofit organization; it is dedicated to ending hunger in the state by promoting access to good nutrition through federal nutrition assistance programs as well as advocating change for local, state and national programs.
