Washington Depot Hosts Future Now Expo
The Washington Environmental Council will hold its annual Future Now Expo on June 24 from 11am to 3pm. The Future Now Expo is an engaging community event that offers an environment where attendees can speak with exhibitors who have demonstrated a commitment to saving our planet.
This all-day event is free, walk-able and family-friendly. Organizers promise there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Informative lectures and workshops will include: Connecticut’s Changing Ecosystems; Landscaping with Native Plants; Creating a Pollinator Landscape; Passive House Design; Composting 101; and River Alliances of CT. Visitors can enjoy live music by Two Dollar Hat along with African drumming and Native American flute. Children’s activities include Endangered Species Mask Making, parade of the animals and Storytime. Electric and hybrid cars will be on display throughout the event.
Vendors will include Litchfield Hills Solar; CT-NOFA, Back 40 Farm, Valley Spirit Cooperative and Wellness Center, Bees Knees Ice Pops, Aruna Chocolates, New Morning Market, Salt of the Earth Spa, Housatonic Valley Association, Steep Rock Association, Kent Falls Brewery and more.
