Letter From Publisher March 2022

Happy Spring! As you can hopefully feel from our bright, beautiful, veggie-ful cover, we are celebrating food this month. March marks the shift toward the spring growing season, when we are planting seeds and looking forward to what fresh, local foods we will get to try from other nearby gardens and farms.
In that vein, we are diving deep into plant-based and vegan eating in two articles this month. On page 16, “Plant-Based Foods Go Mainstream” gives a great
overview of the state of the plant-based diet in the
world, how companies are making the shift away from meat easier and some neat ideas to try to incorporate more vegetarian options in your family’s routine.
“Easing into a Vegan Lifestyle”, on page 20, will also look at some foods that have gained momentum as great alternatives to meat. I hope you try at least one new food or recipe this month—maybe even the Eggplant Parmigiana recipe on page 21!
The Natural Living Directory was moved from this month to the April issue, due to logistical and health issues, but I am finally back to feeling like myself. Thank you all for your support and understanding. We are now ready and eager to bring this exciting 2022 Directory to the community in just a few short weeks. To be included, please reach out to me at [email protected] before March 15.
I am excited to share that Natural Awakenings Fairfield & Southern Litchfield
ounties is hosting a Virtual Breathing Workshop on April 5, with presenter
Alexia Clonda, a Mindset & Breathing Mentor and Coach. Her breathing sessions
help you find peace and clarity and heal from the inside out. Her kindness and
natural healing spirit helps her truly connect with everyone she meets. She will teach attendees about proper breathing methods and focus on reducing stress and anxiety.
Who couldn’t use a little help with that? Learn more on page 10, and sign up at

Be well,
