New Reel Innovation Means Better Mowing
Over the winter, MOWGREEN’s owner, Fairfield resident Dan Delventhal invented something customers have been asking him about for years. The Reel2Reel gang assembly adapter is designed to yoke two or three Scott Classic 20-foot push reels together, increasing the area mowed with each pass, saving time in an environmentally friendly way.
Reels were the only mowers MOWGREEN used when it was founded in 2007. “It’s definitely the most ‘natural way to cut grass, and by far the least polluting,” says Delventhal, winner of TownVibe’s Green Award in 2016 and 2017. Reels feature five heat-treated steel blades, nine grass heights controlled by quick-snap adjusters, and dual tracking wheels with radial tires. MOWGREEN sells both new and refurbished reels as well as the adaptors.
All of MOWGREEN’s equipment is battery-powered, recharged by solar or electricity from the renewable portfolio. And the company’s service offerings have expanded beyond to also include spring clean-up, trimming and hedging, soil optimization, aeration and gardening. Organic treatments for tick control and fertilizer are also available.
