Mothers for Others Holds Annual Spring Donation Drive
Mothers for Others (MFO), founded by Greenwich resident Karen Giannuzzi, will hold its third annual spring donation drive to collect gently used essential baby equipment, toys, books and children’s clothing. On May 3, MFO will conclude the monthlong donation drive by opening its doors for a “blowout” day, when donations will be distributed and art activities offered to local needy families and their children. This year, Stamford-based Kids Draw Free art program will simultaneously launch its Mother’s Day card and gift design event for children while their parents shop for donated items.
Several local schools have joined forces by holding their own collections in April to donate to MFO. Items were collected by parents at The First Presbyterian Nursery School’s annual Bring Your Own Baby Gear, The Greenwich Country Day School’s April Recycling Drive and MFO Greenwich High School Chapter’s teen clothing donation drive.
The monthlong drive will accept donated items at MFO headquarters in the Second Congregational Church, 139 East Putnam Ave, Greenwich. For more information, visit MothersForOthers.org or Facebook.com/MothersForOthers.
