8th Annual Lyme Disease Patient Seminar/Health Fair

“Lyme Disease: Body, Mind and Spirit” is the theme for the Ridgefield Lyme Disease Task Force annual WestConn Lyme Awareness Month seminar and health fair on May 13. The event will look at the impact that Lyme disease has upon the whole person, including the brain. Free and open to the public, the event will be held in the University’s Westside Student Center ballroom.
Speakers include former ILADS president and Lyme disease physician Steven Phillips, MD, former ILADS president, psychiatrist and psychopharmacologist Robert Bransfield, MD, and Lyme-literate mental health practitioner Sandy Berenbaum, LCSW, BCD. Presentations will begin with a Courage in Journalism Award being given to Poughkeepsie Journal investigative reporter Mary Beth Pfeiffer for her article series on tick-borne diseases. A Lyme-focused health fair will begin at 6pm, followed by speaker presentations from 7 to 9:30pm.
