Aspiring herbalists now have a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of plant medicine through the immersive 100-hour Herbalist Training Certification offered by Herbs Love and Yoga in Sandy Hook. This comprehensive program is led by Alyssa Mancini, a clinical herbalist and former chemistry teacher passionate about empowering students with practical skills in herbalism.

Unlike many courses, this in-person, training allows students to study medicinal plants from seed to harvest in the Medicine Garden, located at the Katherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary. The program emphasizes experiential learning, including guided plant walks, hands-on medicine-making, and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) training. Herbs Love and Yoga is a state-certified manufacturer of herbal supplements, cosmetics and CBD, providing students with exclusive insights into the herbal products industry.

The class will meet on 16 Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. between January 6 and May 5, 2025, in Sandy Hook. Class size is limited to nine in-person spots and four virtual live spots. 

Each session delves into herbal applications for various body systems, detailed plant studies, and the creation of personalized herbal remedies. This customized approach fosters a supportive environment where students can connect with like-minded individuals and deepen their understanding of herbal medicine’s healing potential.
