February 2022 Letter From Publisher

We are often speaking of the heart metaphorically—especially during the month of February—but did you know there is actually a very real connection between our hearts and minds?
In our feature article this month, “The Heart-Mind Connection”, on page 18, learn how emotions both positive and negative can impact our heart health. “Our hearts require emotional health in order to maintain cardiovascular health,” says cardiologist Michael Miller, M.D., author of Heal Your Heart.
On a related note, learning to relish in true intimacy with our partners can be incredibly beneficial for our mental and physical health. On page 21, read about how sex and intimacy can be a healing force. Taking some time to connect deeply with another person, getting back to the basics and reconnecting with our life force could be a game-changer.
Also look for articles about the booming secondhand fashion movement going on, the “trend” of fermenting foods that was around long before our pandemic sourdough starters and the gentle process and benefits of Reiki for animals.
Right now, we’re also hard at work on the April Natural Awakenings of Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties—the Annual Natural Living Directory. This special, larger edition features in-depth, get-to-know-you profiles on local practitioners and small business owners, plus an expanded directory. Our readers keep the directory issue close all year long, to help them locate health and wellness experts whenever they’re needed.
Don’t wait to contact us about participating in the 2022 Natural Living Directory! Our deadline for materials is March 12, so email me at [email protected] or call 203-885-4674.
With love,
Erica Mills, publisher
