Summary/services offered:
Valley Spirit is a cooperative wellness center dedicated to serving our local community. We offer a unique blend of integrative medicine, classes and self-care options, serving patients and students alike by helping them to unlock their own innate healing abilities. Therapies include acupuncture,
holistic Psychotherapy, herbal medicine, various styles of bodywork, intuitive healing, massage therapies, holistic art therapy and aesthetic arts and facials. Classes include various styles of yoga, tai chi, qigong, meditation and more. We offer a team of thirty experienced therapists and teachers at our wellness cooperative

What drew you to this profession?
One of the three owners, Kristin Kunhardt (Valley Spirit’s CEO and Vision Keeper), was inspired to open the wellness center after her own personal healing experience with acupuncture and meditation. She moved back to her hometown to be near her father, and witnessed the benefits of alternative healing on his health and aging process. She was inspired to open a center where many therapies could share space to serve her hometown’s county and beyond.

How does your work differ from others in your profession?
Many of the teachers and therapists have been practicing individually for 20-35 years. We are also actively engaged with our local community, hosting events such as Village Nights and the newly launched Art Tripping Salons (an art salon for modern times).

What should someone expect from working with you?
Compassion, kindness, courtesy and knowledge. We are here to help our patients and students, whether they are new to alternative care and the classes we offer or are returning to therapies and exercise they may have once explored.

What changes do you plan in 2020?
Valley Spirit welcomes new teachers to the teaching staff, increasing our seven day a week offerings to 17 classes per week. The addition of holistic Psychotherapies
broadens Valley Spirit's approach to support and heal the mind/body connection.

What is most important for Natural Awakenings’ readers to know?
In our first three years, we have served many patients and students, teachers and therapists. We are a wellness cooperative, offering all things to support mind, body and spirit. We are your neighbors and are here to serve the community and one another. 2020 marks our initiation of a membership program to assure Valley Spirit’s future in our village.
