Natural Awakenings Fairfield & Southern Litchfield Counties

Specialized Bodywork Studio and Apothecarium Opens

Fairfield County native and bodyworker Kerstin Santa has opened a new studio and apothecarium in the heart of Black Rock. The space, currently open by appointment only, is fulfilling Santa’s long-held dream of having a massage studio, crystal shop, potting shed, art studio and gathering space for workshops and events.

“In my dream, this magical place was a massage studio where I could create the perfect environment for my client’s unwinding,” Santa explains. “I wanted a second treatment room so I could create a world-class massage brand, offering the best local bodyworkers a place to call home. I envision this to be the launching pad for my education center, where I will present a style of work called 'Gravity Bodywork'. What I have in mind is a deep curriculum of the best practices for presence-based somatic therapy, developed in my 20-year massage career.”

Santa practices Deep Bodywork, a detailed and profound massage modality that is not often found in the northeast. Originally developed at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, Deep Bodywork is an efficient and pleasurable method for alleviating acute and chronic pain, as well as increasing enjoyment of the body on a daily basis. Santa is thrilled to have a dedicated space to bring her special brand of West Coast healing to Black Rock.

The space also offers high quality CBD and self-care items from salves to bath bombs, as well as succulent potted plants, sea glass, local artwork and jewelry items for purchase.
