Connecticut Women’s Consortium (CWC) presents the 2019 Covington Curriculum Conference
Deepen your understanding of gender-responsive and trauma-informed care at this national conference. Dr. Stephanie Covington’s programs respond to the needs of women, men and girls in the fields of behavioral health, addiction, mental health, trauma treatment and criminal justice. The 2019 Covington Curriculum Conference will take place from June 4 to 6 at the Stamford Hilton Hotel in Stamford. Registration is $450 per person, which includes a participant workbook for the curriculum selected.
CWC has expanded this year with an additional suite on the second floor of their current location at 2321 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut. That training space will accommodate up to 120 participants; as a result, CWC will increase training offerings for the July to December 2019 training catalog by 26 percent. The current fourth floor training space will be utilized for healing arts trainings, which focus on teaching tools for optimal living. Training topics will include meditation, nutrition, Ayurveda, yoga, personal growth, wellness, stress management and more. Continuing education credits will be provided for most trainings. This space will also be utilized for room rentals and private trainings.
CWC has a rich history of promoting trauma-informed, gender responsive services through their mission to ensure that the behavioral health system responds to the needs of women and the people and organizations that affect them. They envision that the behavioral health care systems serving women will be accessible and effective, and practice holistic, trauma-informed and gender-responsive care. To achieve this vision, CWC strives to eliminate discrimination and promote excellence in the care for women through education, advocacy and policy development.
