"Sita” Miriam Zernis and her ensemble of musicians known as Sita’s Light will lead a special entry into 2019 offering the group singing practice known as kirtan. The soul-filled evening will include chanting, meditation, Dances of Universal Peace, light refreshments, special midnight moments and more. Kirtan is a movement which extends across all cultures, races and religions. 

The Oxford Creative Center in Stamford is excited to be sponsoring the New Year’s Eve event. Doors open on December 31 at 6:30pm and close at 12:15am on January 1. The cost is $60 until December 15, $70 until December 29 and $80 thereafter. It is cash only at the door on December 31. 

There will be a Westchester County preview of the experience on December 8 at 7pm at Sacred Spirit Yoga in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

Zernis has been guiding a welcoming kirtan experience in New York City, Westchester and Fairfield Counties, Europe, Costa Rica and Canada for more than 10 years. Her kirtans offer a combination of traditional old world and original chants framed by eclectic sacred music as she is joined by several other spiritual musicians. This will be their ninth New Year’s Eve event.
