Celebrate the Winter Solstice with Westbrook Nature School
On December 16 from 4 to 6pm, families with young children are invited to mark the winter solstice with Westbrook Nature School on six acres in West Redding. Join them for their illuminated forest at 4pm sharp.
The celebration of the longest night of the year will begin at twilight. Participants will first decorate a tree with hand-made bird food decorations, followed by lighting the candles on the tree and singing songs with hope for the coming light. All will then walk in peaceful reflection through a beautiful, mysterious candlelit forest trail and then gather by the campfire for a warm snack and storytelling. Please dress appropriately for the weather and the trail walk. The suggested donation is
$10 per family.
