Intuitive counselor Victoria Shaw, PhD, LPC, will lead a workshop, Empowered by Empathy, at Barefoot Living Arts in Fairfield on October 15. An empath herself, Shaw will help participants understand the nature of intuitive empathy and share tools and strategies that have helped her and her clients manage and get the most of their empathic gifts. This workshop is appropriate for anyone who identifies as an empath, or thinks they might be as well as those who love them.

Intuitive empaths are highly sensitive people who experience other individuals’ feelings and pain as if they were happening to them. Intuitive empathy can be a great gift when managed correctly, allowing for a deeper sense of connection with and compassion for others. But feeling other people’s feelings can be overwhelming and confusing. Many empaths can suffer from mood swings, anxiety, depression, obesity, addiction, co-dependency and chronic fatigue. 

The course fee is $35 per person, or $30 if paid in full by October 6.
