Birth Symposium: Having the Birth You Want
Circle for Life Midwifery and St. Vincent’s Medical Center are hosting the St. Vincent’s Third Annual Birth Symposium on September 13, from 7 to 9pm, in Bridgeport. The event enables women to talk with family birthing experts about planning their desired birth experience at St. Vincent’s home-like midwifery suite and birthing center.
The event will be held in the Cancer Center on Level 4, Hawley 1, which is located at 2800 Main Street in Bridgeport. Birth center tours will start at 6:30pm, but note that those interested must meet in the hospital’s lobby.
Meet Circle for Life Midwifery’s midwives, including Sarah Najamy, CNM; Parvin Kasraian, CNM; and Jemine Wayman, CNM. Melissa Melendez, BSN, RNC-MNN, the nurse manager for the Family Birthing Center, will be on hand to answer questions about the center. Other service providers include Bradley Method’s Nancy and George Bernsten; Jodi Palmieri, RN, LLC, St. Vincent’s lactation specialist; Cynthis Overgard of HypnoBirthing of CT; From Labor to Love Photography’s JoAnn Marrero; Jodi, a child passenger safety technician with Car Safe; Birthing from Within’s Giedre Kere; Birth Partners of CT; doulas; and other services from Fairfield County.
