New Canaan’s Halo Studios is now offering Nordic Cryotherapy, a first in the area. Whole body cryotherapy is a three-minute treatment that exposes the body to temperatures of about minus 264 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cryotherapy reduces inflammation in the body and is being used increasingly by elite athletes to decrease recovery time. An athlete would have to sit in an ice bath for 30 minutes two times in a row in order to get the same effect as a three-minute cryotherapy session.
