Internationally acclaimed percussionist and storyteller, John de Kadt, returns to YogaSpace on September 23 at 8pm for Drumstory. He typically performs at larger venues and yoga festivals around the world, so this is an opportunity to experience his “drum poetry” in a small venue.

The oral tradition of storytelling has been the main vehicle for humans to impart wisdom, entertain, teach and retain information from generation to generation. In the past 100 years, this educational art has been all but lost on modern culture. World traveler, percussionist, poet and storyteller, John de Kadt, keeps this oral tradition alive through his blend of stories and drumming.

He plays a myriad of ethnic percussion instruments. He has performed on PBS and NBC and is the founding member of the devotional group, The Hanumen. His sixth album will be released this fall.
