Fall Events at Western CT State University
The Institute for Holistic Studies at Western Connecticut State University’s fall calendar includes Sahaja Yoga meditation classes the second Tuesday of each month starting September 13 at 7pm. The Wellness Wednesday Workshops will be offered every two weeks, starting September 14 at 12:30pm.
On September 7, Meditation: Multicultural Perspectives will take place from 5-10pm at the Campus Center Ballroom, Westside campus. The event will be presented in partnership with the Center for Compassion, Creativity, and Innovation, and WCSU Office of Diversity and Equity. A two-part Holistic and Integrative Health Initiatives Panel event, presented in collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurship, Research, Innovation, and Creativity, will be held on September 28 from 6-8pm and October 4 from 7-9pm.
In addition, the Institute for Holistic Health Studies is sponsoring several upcoming programs presented by local practitioners and educators.
• Shamanic Practitioner Certification: Presented by Deana Paqua, MA, LMT, of Embody the Sacred, the program continues monthly from September 17, 2016, through October 21, 2017.
• Yoga Teacher Certification: Presented by Lara Ward, RYT, LMT, of Lotus Gardens Yoga, the weekly program is offered October 7, 2016, through April 21, 2017.
• Hand and Foot Reflexology: Lara Ward, RYT, LMT, of Lotus Gardens Yoga, and Kelly Garry, certified reflexologist, of Clary Sage are presenting the two-weekend course on September 24-25 and November 12-13.
