Upcoming IHHS Sponsored Certification Programs

Two certification programs will be offered by the Institute of Holistic Health Studies (IHHS) at Western Connecticut State University this school year. These programs are open to students, faculty, staff and all community members.

Quantum-Touch Level 1 Workshop with Balaram Muddapu, Ph.D., and Syamalamba Muddapu, MBA will be offered on October 10 and 11 from 9am to 5:30pm. Quantum-touch, an interactive energy-based, heart-centered modality, uses non-invasive techniques with light touch to assist the body in restoring balance and harmony. Whether you want to learn how to heal yourself and care for your friends and family, or if you work as a healthcare professional wishing to expand your skills, this workshop will teach the building blocks to learning the entire Quantum-Touch system. Lara Azzarito Ward, 500 E-RYT, LMT, will offer a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training on Fridays 9am–4:15pm, running October 2, 2015 through April 22, 2016. Lotus Gardens Yoga School’s curriculum covers the major styles instructed currently, including Alignment, Ashtanga, Gentle, Hatha, Kundalini, Restorative, Vinyasa and Yin. Also offered will be additional research and hands-on student teaching for medical concerns and special needs such as prenatal, back/neck problems, arthritis, menopause, seniors, anxiety, depression and more. The teacher training is offered in three elements: philosophy and culture, anatomy and asana, and teach what you love. Each element is 56 classroom hours plus four hours of mentoring and one field trip day to New York City. In addition, each candidate will be required to do 20 hours of home study.
