Puttin’ on the Dog Festival Returns to Greenwich

Puttin’ on the Dog Adoptions Festival is an annual event that highlights the important work that Adopt-A-Dog (shelter located in Armonk, New York) does. The 2015 festival will take place on September 20 from 10am to 4:30pm at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich.

Puttin’ on the Dog hopes to attract around 6,000 local community members from both Connecticut and New York, providing many dogs and cats with the opportunity to find loving forever homes. The event is a fantastic family day and Adopt-A-Dog’s single biggest fundraiser. During the event, a silent auction and raffle are held to raise money for rescue initiatives. This money raised at the event goes towards the overall care of the dogs and cats at the shelter.

“We’re really looking forward to all of the activities! We will have many dogs and cats available for adoption. The public can register their own dog to enter various competitions, which are for-fun dog shows held throughout the day with categories including best kisser, best lap dog, aged to perfection, best costume and more. There will be live music by Billy & The Showman, vendors selling pet-related items, great food, a children’s play area, and much, much more!” Kristen Rice, Adopt-A-Dog’s executive director states. “We want this to be fun for everyone involved, but with the clear message that it’s about the animals finding forever homes.” Community members are encouraged to bring their pets along.

A Pet Pantry Pavilion, hosted by presenting sponsor, Pet Pantry Warehouse, will provide pet product demonstrations, training tips and advice, nutrition and educational information, generous free samples and attractive merchandise for dogs and cats.
