Woodbury and Southbury Businesses Hold Survive to Thrive Event

In collaboration with the Harold Leever Cancer Center, The Salt of the Earth Spa and other Woodbury and Southbury businesses are sponsoring a day of rejuvenation on September 12 for cancer patients and survivors. Participants are invited to relax, relieve stress, and enjoy a special array of free and discounted services.

Salt of the Earth will offer free salt cave sessions with crystal singing bowls, guided meditation, energy healing and chair massages.

New Morning Market will host an informative lineup of speakers: Kim Schmus and Pam Picard on Mind, Body and Spirit from 10-10:30am, Morgan O’Connell with The Benefits of Yoga for Cancer Patients from 10:30-10:45am, Joe Bentivoglio on The Benefits of Massage for Cancer Patients and Survivors from 10:45-11am and Life Coach Sarah Hamilton about Life is Now: A Seminar on staying in the moment with focus on health and recovery from 11am-noon. In the afternoon, Alison Birks will speak about Preventing Cancer with Nutrition from noon-12:45 and Eugenia Magill will lead the Guided Self-Healing Meditation from 1-2pm.

After a break for lunch and New Morning promotions, Eugene Zampieron, a naturopath, herbalist and professor, will offer Unique and Evidence-based Botanical Medicines for Cancer and Maintaining Strong Immune System from 2:45-3:45pm. Dr. Melissa Beck will talk about Chiropractic Healing for Cancer from 3-4pm and Becca Zeretsky will perform original comedic songs from 4-4:30pm. The MC of the event, JodiLynn Natale, will show cancer survivors how to live with passion, laughter and love of life from 4:30-4:45pm while Miles Arnell, a local pop/soul singer and songwriter, will finish the day by commemorating his own family’s challenge with cancer from 4:45-5:15pm.

Other participants include Brennan Healing Science, DermAesthetics, The Spa Room at DermAesthetics, Community Accupuncture, Villarina’s and many others.
