Shamanic Healing Restores Balance Through Extraction

Sep 04, 2015 02:34AM ● By Jessica Hunter

Shamanic extraction is an ancient, time-tested, empowering form of shamanic healing that has been used by shamans for centuries to restore balance, alignment and harmony on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels through the grace and power of spirit and energy. In indigenous cultures, individuals consulted the shaman for healing, divination, guidance and restoration of personal power. As hospitals and psychologists were nonexistent in these communities, people relied on the shaman for assistance and survival for life’s challenges on all levels. Today, this healing practice continues to thrive, and is facilitated by contemporary shamanic practitioners.

The healing technique of shamanic extraction is to remove and transform imbalances, blockages and intrusions that may be residing in the physical, energetic, mental or emotional body of an individual. These blockages—commonly referred to as intrusions—alter and affect an individual in a variety of ways. Some intrusions affect emotional growth and stability; other intrusions may affect individuals from being fully present within themselves, and affect their personal power and strength. Others may affect the physical body, manifesting into physical issues and ailments that affect an individual’s overall health and balance. Intrusions may also have an affect mentally, stunting an individual from being able to move forward and keeping them “trapped” in negative thinking and negative patterns and habits. Other intrusions may keep an individual entangled with another person’s energetic field, affecting them in an unhealthy way.

When and individual is not in his full power, balanced or healthy on a mental, emotional, spiritual or physical level, intrusions may be picked up by an individual consciously or unconsciously. Sometimes they are created by unhealthy words or thoughts from a person, place or thing surrounding the individual. These words or thoughts may be taken in by the individual on the receiving end, and then given power to manifest into a blockage. Negative energy or emotions are another possibility for manifesting into blockages. Intrusions may result from physical circumstances, such as being involved in a car accident, receiving a physical injury or having major surgery; physical encounters such as these may leave imprints within the body, even long after the body has physically healed. The imprint then becomes a basis for another possible blockage, which can manifest in a different way. Intrusions can also happen when an individual becomes entangled with another person’s energy field, or takes on emotions, thoughts or negative actions from that individual. They may even result from unconsciously carrying a burden for an ancestor. The possibility for taking in an intrusion can happen in a variety of ways, but they can be healed and removed; they do not have to be a permanent hindrance.

Shamanic extraction may be performed to heal, transform and remove these intrusions by going to the root of the actual issue. Shamans work with spirits and energy; they have awareness that the root of these intrusions reside within the energetic realms. In a shamanic extraction, the shaman connects with helping and healing spirits to facilitate the healing. Through this connection, the shaman is able to see and identify what the intrusions are, what type of energy they came from, and where they are actually residing within the individual.

Through the assistance of these helping spirits, the intrusion is removed and transformed, enabling the individual to experience healing and relief from these blockages and hindrances. In addition to working with the spirits, the shaman may also work with sacred tools to assist in facilitating this process—such as a drum or rattle, cleansing and healing herbs, or sacred stones or crystals. During the extraction, the shaman must be completely protected and in their full power. If an extraction is performed incorrectly, or the shaman is not in complete balance to be able to participate, he may actually take in the blockages himself from the individual being healed. Therefore, this type of healing work is not recommended to be performed without proper shamanic training and protection.

Shamanic extraction is an ancient healing practice that has stood the test of time. It enables individuals to heal, transform and resolve issues on all levels, so they may move forward and thrive.
