Fall Events for Furry Friends

Two events are happening in Fairfield County for animal lovers who want to adopt or support animal rescue. The 7th Annual Paws for the Cause takes place on October 6, 2013 in Ridgefield followed by Stratford’s 8th Annual Fall Festival to Benefit Animals on October 12, 2013.


The Blue Buffalo Co. and ROAR are presenting the 7th Annual Paws for the Cause on October 6 at 1pm at Ridgefield’s Ballard Park. After the walk down Main Street, the ROAR 2013 Dog Walk will have musical entertainment by DJ Vibes, a catered lunch by Chef Paul, vendor booths, food, a ROAR cat tent, Doggy Fun Zone, and a ROAR Shelter Puppy Family Reunion and more. Registration is $35 for the first person in each group, which includes a meal ticket, t-shirt and goodie bag, and $5 for each additional person (with meal ticket).

Paradise Green in Stratford will be home to the 8th Annual Fall Festival to Benefit Animals on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 10am-6pm (October 13 rain date). The event will start off with a 1-mile Lois Minto Memorial Dog Walk down Main Street (pre-registration for $10 is required). The Fall Festival will include over 90 vendors/crafters, pet adoptions, a microchip clinic, food, contests, celebrities, canine demos, music, games, a silent auction and more. VH1 Radio producer Pam Landry will join again as its “Mistress of Ceremonies” while News Channel 12 Connecticut meteorologist/host Lauren Collier will lead the Dog Walk. Photographer Scott Ian Barry, author of Wolf Empire, will also be featured in lectures.
