Himalayan Salt Cave Opens in Ridgefield
Saltana Cave opens its doors this month at 590 Danbury Road, Ridgefield as the first authentic Himalayan salt cave within Fairfield County. The Cave offers a unique environment made completely out of salt, to provide guests with a soothing sense of peace and serenity as well as relief from many respiratory ailments.
Local resident Anna Husted opened her salt cave because she wanted to offer area residents the many healthy benefits of salt therapy that were well-known in her native Poland. “During our most recent visit to Poland last summer, I brought my daughter, who has been suffering from asthma for the past 8 years, to one of the caves. I was amazed how well she responded to the salt therapy. I realized then, it was absolutely necessary for me to not only bring this alternative form of treatment to Ridgefield for my daughter, but also for anyone who would like to try and experience the numerous health benefits a salt cave can offer.”
In a salt cave, guests are immediately surrounded by tons of Himalayan salt rocks, just as if they were in a salt mine. An amazingly beautiful and glowing space has been designed to provide an immediate sense of relief -- both on an emotional and physical level. Guests sit in relaxing zero gravity lounge chairs, as soothing background music brings serenity and peace into their hearts in just minutes.
Salt therapy is naturally anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal. It has been widely used for centuries across Europe and Asia, where people travel long distances to visit the salt mines which are widely known for relieving symptoms of respiratory conditions such as asthma (mucus plugs, wheezing, congestion), the side effects of smoking, allergies to industrial and household pollutants, lung Infections, relapsing pneumonia, bronchitis and more.
