Sophia Natural Health Center Supports Bill for Breast Thermography
State Rep. Peter Tercyak, D-New Britain, has proposed a bill that calls for health insurance to cover a test he says is key to the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. The legislation would require health insurance coverage for breast thermography.
Medical Infrared Thermography is a safe, painless and non-invasive screening device described by the FDA as an adjunctive diagnostic screening for the detection of breast cancer and other uses. While it is not considered diagnostic, studies reveal that it can detect risk to breast health far earlier than other screening modalities.
For past 8 years Sophia Natural Health Center has provided this service to hundreds of women across the state and into New York. “We are pleased to finally see Thermography supported by our legislators” said Ken Hoffman, medical director at Sophia. We have seen the wonderful results that Thermography brings when we can "see" early images of breast health and have women reverse concerning risks with proper natural medicine evaluation, dietary and nutritional changes. Having insurance coverage would make this screening available to more women”
