Spearheaded by Dr. Dennis Godby, naturopathic doctor and long distance runner, The Run for America’s Natural Doctors is a pilot project to introduce “naturopathic medicine” into the national vocabulary and to make “naturopathic doctor” a household term. On November 17, The University of Bridgeport will host Dr. Godby, his sons Isaiah and Jeremiah, and his nephew Jonas Ely at the culmination of their 3,250-mile transcontinental run. They will have crossed the United States on foot, with support crew in tow, in an effort to draw attention to the need for expanded state licensure, encouraging more comprehensive insurance coverage. The supporting public is invited to join the Run during its last leg, and encouraged to donate to the Run for America’s Natural Doctors.  All are welcome to attend the Health Fair to be held at the same location.

The Runners will arrive from noon to 1 p.m. at the University of Bridgeport’s Wheeler Recreation Center, 400 University Avenue, Bridgeport. The Health Fair will be held at the same location between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Supporters can sign up on the website, TheRun.org to receive information via newsletter as well as to donate or register to join the run during the last leg.
