Imagine a vending machine that offers Tazo teas, Blue Sky organic sodas, Horizon organic milk products and healthy snack options, instead of the usual: choices only a teenager could love. Seventeen of those cutting-edge vending machines are coming to southern Fairfield County, as Stamford-based Allie’s Natural Vending partners with Yo Naturals of Solano Beach, CA to provide healthy vending options. “The initial response has been outstanding,” according to Steve DeNicola, president and owner of Allie’s. The lucky facilities featuring the new machines will include the New Canaan YMCA, Darien YMCA, Italian Center of Stamford, Twin Rinks, Norwalk Community College, and Terry Connors Ice Rink. All machines will accept credit and debit cards. Healthy eating “is part of our lifestyle,” says DeNicola and his wife, Alison. “We feel very strongly about providing options locally. We definitely believe the healthy vending concept is the direction of the future and we intend to be a positive force in the local area.”
