Lakeside Pottery Celebrates the Healing of a Fellow Artist
A major contributor to the Fairfield County art community, potter Kevin Thomas, was seriously injured in a car accident over two years ago. With severe brain and other injuries, his chances of survival were slim. Even after months of intensive care, Kevin and his friends held very little hope of his returning to a normal life and to his craft. But, two years later, after an intense effort at healing, Kevin Thomas is back at the potter’s wheel. “To celebrate this amazing human story and help Kevin with his new gift of life,” Lakeside Pottery will hold an art sale and show. The reception will be held on Saturday, December 5 and the show of “his very recent beautiful work” on Sunday, December 6.
A resident of Westport, Kevin has been a Silvermine Guild Arts Center faculty member since 1997, a Guild Artist since 2000, and past board of directors president of the Loft Artist Association, as well as an adjunct art teacher at NYU, a job he will be returning to. He is well known for his generosity in supporting local agencies and causes.
Reception hours on Saturday will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday art show hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lakeside Pottery is at 543 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Call 203.323.2222 for more information. Email [email protected] or visit LakesidePottery.com.
