Heart Health Month at the Trumbull Library
On February 3, at 12 p.m., Community Room, the Trumbull Library and the University of Bridgeport kick-off “February is Heart Month”. Dr. Jennifer Brett presents a lecture on Traditional Chinese Diet Therapy for Heart Health. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners put an emphasis on balancing the flavors of food in order to maintain health. When the diet becomes unbalanced, the excess or deficiency can trigger a disharmony in the body. Dr. Jennifer Brett will discuss how to apply TCM diet therapy to optimize the health of the heart. Bring your lunch as doors will open at 11:45 a.m.
Dr. Brett is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Tri-State Institute of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. She is currently the Director of the University of Bridgeport Acupuncture Institute, and a faculty member for the College of Naturopathic Medicine at the University of Bridgeporty. A recognized leader in her field, Dr. Brett has appeared on WABC TV (NYC) and on Good Morning America to discuss utilizing herbs for health. She has an extensive background in treating a wide variety of disorders utilizing acupuncture as well as nutritional and botanical remedies.
