Gala Celebrates Norwalk Seaport Beacon Award

Larry Flynn, Diane Mulvehill and Roger Stenz will receive the Norwalk Seaport Association’s 2010 Beacon Award during the annual NSA Light Keeper’s Gala, a fundraising event, on Friday, March 26. The Gala co-chairs, Pat Fales and Liz Lyons of Norwalk, explain, “Thanks to these three special people and other dedicated supporters, the Norwalk Seaport Association continues to evolve as a dynamic non-profit organization that enlightens our community about the value of the Norwalk Islands and the historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse, which still shines as an educational beacon for both children and adults.” Déjà Vu will provide music for dancing, and popular radio personality John LaBarca, from 1400 WSTC-1350 WNLK, will be the emcee and auctioneer. Proceeds from silent and live auctions during the festive dinner-dance will help support the Seaport Association’s stewardship of historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse.

The Light Keeper’s Gala will be held from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, at the Dolce Norwalk Center, 32 Weed Avenue. Individual tickets are $125 and corporate tables are available.
